Acronyms For Hilarity, LLC, a Texas limited liability company (“AFH,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), operates AFH: Acronyms for Hilarity. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices available to you.

INFORMATION WE COLLECT

Profile information. Your unique AFH Name, an internal account identifier, and—only if you protect or recover your profile—your email address.

Game and Daily AFH activity. Private-room nicknames, room settings, categories and category selections, acronym responses, votes, scores, winners, participation streaks, and statistics.

Safety and support information. Reports you submit about a response or player, any explanation you provide, and communications you send to us.

Device and service information. Session and recovery data stored on your device, timestamps, and basic network, device, security, or diagnostic information processed by our service providers when you use AFH.

HOW WE USE INFORMATION

We use information to create, protect, recover, and display your AFH profile; operate private games, Daily AFH, voting, results, rankings, streaks, and player statistics; synchronize game state when players leave and return; deliver verification and recovery emails; detect abuse, investigate reports, enforce our rules, secure the service, fix problems, and improve categories and gameplay; and comply with legal obligations and protect the rights and safety of players, AFH, and others.

WHAT OTHER PLAYERS CAN SEE

Your AFH Name, submitted acronyms, game results, win rates, rankings, and selected statistics may be visible to other players. A private-room nickname and content are visible to people in that room. Voting may be shown in aggregate, but AFH does not display which person cast a particular vote.

Your email address is used for profile protection and recovery and is not displayed to other players.

WHEN WE SHARE INFORMATION

AFH does not sell personal information and does not currently use advertising networks or cross-app tracking.

We use service providers to operate AFH, including Supabase for database hosting, authentication, and game services; Resend for email delivery; and OpenAI to generate and judge computer-controlled public-game responses and assist with content moderation. Public-game categories, letters, and response text may be processed by OpenAI for these purposes. AFH does not send your email address to OpenAI for AI gameplay.

Apple, Google, Expo, and related platform providers may also process technical or transaction information when they distribute or run the app. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy commitments.

We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to valid legal process, prevent fraud or harm, enforce our Terms of Use, or protect AFH and its players.

STORAGE AND RETENTION

We retain profile and gameplay information while needed to operate AFH, preserve game history and rankings, maintain safety records, and meet legal obligations. Removing the app from a device does not automatically remove information stored by AFH.

You may schedule deletion from AFH Profile in the app. Deletion is scheduled for seven days after your request, and you may cancel in the app during that grace period. When deletion is completed, we delete your profile, sign-in information, statistics, Daily AFH activity, and submitted response content.

Limited non-identifying multiplayer record structure, such as round and score records, may remain after your name and response text are removed to preserve database integrity. We may retain limited information where required for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or backup integrity.

YOUR CHOICES

Providing an email address is optional, but an email is required to protect or recover an AFH profile.

You may use a room-specific nickname in private games. You may report content or behavior using the reporting tools available in AFH. You may schedule or cancel profile deletion from AFH Profile in the app, or contact us with an access, correction, or deletion question.

SECURITY

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

CHILDREN’S PRIVACY

AFH is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, please contact us so we can review and delete it as appropriate. Players under the age of legal majority should use AFH only with permission from a parent or legal guardian.

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy as AFH changes. We will post the revised policy with a new “Last updated” date and provide additional notice when required.
